MSP posts in Alpena & Gaylord searching for Angels

Submitted by on August 12, 2019 – 12:54 amNo Comment

Michigan State Police posts in Alpena and Gaylord are searching for angels for their Angel programs.

The program allows an individual struggling with addiction to walk into any post and ask for assistance without fear of arrest or investigation.

Citizens who volunteer to assist with the program help post personnel locate appropriate treatment options and help transport participants to treatment centers. Volunteers are reimbursed for mileage and meal expenses and are trained on the responsibilities and expectations of being an angel.

The Alpena post will be conducting angel training in the near future. Interested residents should call 354-4101; or visit www.michigan.gov/AngelProgram.

The MSP post in Gaylord will be conducting training in September. For more information call 989-619-3009.
