The City of Alpena will be completing utility repairs at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Charlotte Street Tuesday, which will disrupt traffic and water service to residents in the area.

The project was originally scheduled to be completed Monday but due to weather and construction delays was moved to today.

Water will be shut off to residents living on Elizabeth, from Ripley Boulevard to 11th Avenue; Charlotte, from Washington Avenue to 11th Avenue; and Catherine Street, from Ripley to 11th Ave.

When water is restored, residents should flush the taps in their homes until water runs clear. Property owners will be notified if a water boil notice is required.

Signage and barricades will be present to guide traffic around the construction site.

The work will be completed today unless there are additional weather or construction delays, however, temporary closures will occur over the next two weeks to make street repairs.
