Gabriella found alive & well by resident near Lewiston
A missing two-year-old girl has been found alive and well after walking away from a family campsite in Oscoda County.
Gabriella Roselynn Vitale went missing early Monday morning and was found by a resident northwest of Fairview late Tuesday morning, following a more than 24-hour search by various law enforcement agencies.
Gabriella walked approximately a quarter to a half-mile from the campsite to the home of a resident who was aware the child was missing after previously being contacted by police.
Gabriella was reunited with her mother and taken to a hospital for examination.
According to Sp/Lt. Travis House of the Michigan State Police, the little girl was missing her bottoms and her shoes but seemed “relatively unfazed for a two-year old who’s been in the woods overnight.”
The family is from the Monroe area and was camping in a wooded area about three-quarters of a mile west of M-33 on Reber Road in Comins Township, just north of Fairview.
