A committee for the Alpena Public Schools’ board of education will conduct interviews of the four people applying for a vacancy on the board Thursday and Friday.

The interviews are open to the public.

Thursday’s interviews will be conducted between 3-4:30 p.m. Applicants include Jeffrey Mindock, Stephaine Shafto and Debra Ludwiczak. The fourth applicant, Eric Lawson, will be interviewed Friday morning at 9:15.

The committee is then expected to pass along a recommendation to the full board, which is likely to appoint that candidate to the seat Monday evening.

The vacancy was created at the end of May when former school board member Jackie Krawczak resigned. Her term expires December 31, 2022.

APS school board members serve without pay. A full term is four years.
