The celebrations pay tribute to the many military men and women who have died in America’s wars, as well as veterans and current members of the U.S. military.

The events start with a memorial presentation at the county courthouse, starting at 9:30 a.m. That will be followed by a parade down Ninth Avenue to Washington Avenue Park where a memorial to Navy and Marine heroes will be held.

The parade will then march on to Little Flanders Field where an annnual ceremony of events will be held at 11 a.m. sharp. That includes the placing of wreaths by veterans of various wars, a rifle salute, the playing of Taps, a ringing of the bell and a closing prayer.
