Two meetings are being held in Alpena and Oscoda counties this week, so state officials can update hunters, farmers and other interested residents on the latest information regarding bovine tuberculosis and the health of deer and cattle in the region.

The “Herd & Hunter Bovine TB Connections” meetings are one way for various state agencies to not only share the most latest information with those most impacted by bovine TB, but also discuss how everyone can work together to improve communities that are faced with the disease.

The meetings will feature information on deer and cattle gut health and the nutritional needs of both species; along with updates on TB programs and activities that affect the area.

The Alpena meeting is being held inside the Wilson Township Hall Tuesday evening, starting at 7 p.m. And the other meeting will be held at the Oscoda County Community Center in Mio on Wednesday, also at 7 p.m.
