Alpena Art Walks are returning to the downtown area for a third consecutive year.

The events are held on the last Friday of each month, from May through September.

A special pre-Christmas art walk is also being held on Friday, November 29.

The Art Walks are art-centric events, highlighting Alpena as an arts and cultural destination. The events are hosted by the five downtown art galleries of Forty Five North Art Gallery, Art in the Loft, My Glass Wings, Studio Rubedo and Thunder Bay Arts Council Gallery.

Each gallery will have special activities planned for the monthly walks, such as meeting artisans, artists’ demonstrations, drawings for prizes, light refreshments, downtown promotions and specials and live outdoor music from street performers. In addition, all galleries and some other downtown businesses will extend their hours to 8 p.m. for each Art Walk.

The first Art Walk of the season will be held on Friday, May 31.
