The Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) is hosting a free presentation in Alpena that will provide local farmers with information on funding programs and other resources.

It’s being held at Alpena Community College next Wednesday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to noon.  The program is open to all types of farms and all sizes.

Employees from the Alpena-Montmorency Conservation District will be speaking at the event about resources available for farmers in the area.  The MAEAP also has funding programs that assist farmers with building hoop houses, agricultural chemical facilities, waste storage facilities and more.

There will also be discussions on the latest wildlife diseases, groundwater and soil health and cover cropping.

To RSVP contact the Alpena-Montmorency Conservation District at 989-356-3596, ext. 108.
