Mark Duane Olson, 63, of Alpena, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday March 9, 2019. Mark was born on May 8, 1955 to the late Howard and Edna (Hibner) Olson in Alpena, MI. Immediately upon graduation from Alpena High School, he went to work for Besser Company where he recently retired from in 2018. Through the years Mark developed a strong passion for all things Automotive leading him to enroll in the Automotive Tech program at Alpena Community College. It has been said he had some of the best maintained vehicles around. He also enjoyed woodworking, traveling, going for walks and riding his bike. He had an extensive collection of hats, tin signs, and all things Coca-Cola. Mark was an extremely proud member of the United Steel Workers Local 209 as well as the National Rifle Association.

There were many things Mark loved about his traveling adventures such as the frequent trips to Lake Tahoe, NV., visiting Virginia City, NV. (an all time favorite and must stop), but by far the thing that brought him the most joy was visiting and spending time with the ones whom he held close to his heart, Becca, Corey, Tanner and Ethan.

He is survived by Rebecca (Corey), Tanner, and Ethan Bartreau of Reno, NV., and a brother, Jack Olson of Waterford, MI. Mark was preceded in death by a brother Wayne Olsen, and Nicholas Mausolf.

Mark has been taken for cremation from McWilliams Funeral Home with no services planned at this time. Online condolences may be registered at www.mcwilliamsfh.com
