A young Alpena man recently saw his sentence double after he was caught bragging about sexually assaulting girls.

Kyle Harris, 19, was sentenced on a single count of criminal sexual conduct – third degree.

When he reached a settlement agreement in December it included a sentence recommendation of no more than one-year in the county jail.  Instead, Harris is headed to prison for a 24 month to 15 year stay.

That’s because Judge Michael Mack learned he was bragging about his sexual assault “conquests” while on a jail phone and to another inmate or inmates.  Mack also said Harris hasn’t taken responsibility for his actions.

Harris sexually assaulted his former 14 year-old girlfriend, who is under the age of consent.  The victim’s mom walked in on the assault and Harris fled the scene.

Harris is required to register as a sex offender.
