Northeast Michigan’s first craft beer festival is returning to downtown Alpena in the fall.

The 3rd annual Sunrise Suds Tap Takeover will be held on Saturday, September 21, from 3 p.m. to midnight, along Second Avenue, from Chisholm Street to Water Street.

Details of this year’s event are still in the planning stage, but last year over 30 craft beer breweries showcased their favorite brews, along with four bands, street performers, games, activities and more.

Tickets ranged in price from $40 to $75.

Organizers have been given permission to block off Second Avenue, from Chisholm Street to Water Street; River Street, from Third Avenue to First Avenue; and an alleyway between Chisholm and River from 8 p.m. on Friday, September 20 through noon on Sunday, September 22.  They say the extra time is needed to set up and tear down tents and for cleanup.
