Battle of the Badges charity hockey game to take place Saturday

The 16th annual Battle of the Badges charity hockey game is set to take place at Northern Lights Arena on Saturday.

The event will feature a hockey game between the local firefighters and police officers as well as a 50/50 raffle, Chuck-a-Puck, and a Mystery Waterways prize raffle.

Tickets for the raffle are being sold for $5 each or 3 for $10 today at Walmart from from 10 AM until 5 PM and tomorrow at Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union on Bagley Street from 9 AM until 5 PM. The top prize in the raffle is an ice shanty with at least a $500 minimum value. Other prizes include a $500 Visa Gift Card, an elk viewing sleigh ride, and more. Tickets can also be purchased at the Boys and Girls Club, Jimmy Garant’s Party Store, Wolverine State Credit Union, Frank’s Key and Lock Shop, The Drug Store, and Northern Lights Arena.

The event will be held Saturday at 7 PM and the proceeds will benefit the Alpena Boys and Girls Club, the Alpena County Victim’s Advocates, and Northern Lights Arena Youth Programming.
