An 18 year-old Alpena man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl at an underage drinking party made his initial appearance in Circuit Court this week.
Thompson “Tommy” Hein is charged with criminal sexual conduct in the third and fourth degree, along with indecent exposure.
Hein is accused of sexually assaulting a 16 year-old girl at a party hosted by Shane Dawson in late July 2016, while Dawson’s parents were out of town.
Hein pleaded not guilty to the charges this week.  His attorney plans to file multiple motions before a possible trial date is set.  Judge Michael Mack arraigned Hein but then announced he would be recusing himself from the case.
Hein allegedly sexually assaulted the victim at the same time she was allegedly being assaulted by 20 year-old Nicholas Skaluba, also of Alpena.  Skaluba’s preliminary examination will be continued later this month.  It was adjourned last month, following a full day of testimony.
