Elsie Minke

Elsie Minke passed away at the age of 100 at her home on December 10, 2014, surrounded by her family.

Elsie was born on November 28, 1914 in Alpena to the late Gustoff and Gunda (Lentz) Preuss. On February 15, 1934 she married August Minke at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. August and Elsie owned and operated their family Dairy Farm for 45 years. Together they had two daughters, Dixie and Joyce. Elsie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake and a member of the Ladies Aide, as well as a member of the Farm Bureau. She loved her flower garden and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She never complained and always said that she felt pretty good.

Elsie is survived by her two daughters, Joyce King of Hubbard Lake and Dixie (Dan) Crevier of Ossineke; four grandchildren: Niki (Jess) Kalisch, Brian (Melissa) Crevier, Duane Cadarette, and Richard (Laurie) Krentz; five great-grandchildren: Emily, Ethan, and Evan Kalisch along with Kendra and Neal Krentz.

Preceding her in death was her husband August, one sister Martha Liske, and a son-in-law Jack King.

Friends and family may gather for visitation at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home on Monday December 15, 2014 from 10 am until the time of funeral service at 2 pm with Rev. Joseph Llewellyn officiating at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home.

Interment will be at the Wolf Creek Cemetery.
