ELOWSKY, Edwin A., 86, of Alpena our dear father, went to join mom in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 23, 2014. Edwin was born January 4, 1928 in Posen to Emil and Martha L. (Legner) Elowsky.  He was raised near Posen where his father farmed and operated the Elowsky Flour Mill on the Thunder Bay River. He married Margaret Jane Diemond on July 2, 1949 sharing 58 wonderful years together before she preceded him in death on October 31, 2007. Edwin was very active at Huron Shores Fellowship and enjoyed attending bible study.  His leisure time was filled with fishing, hunting, gardening, mushroom hunting and cooking.  Ed retired from HPC where he was a pipefitter.  A devote Christian and witness for Christ, he was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and most recently, Huron Shores Fellowship.  Ed was a hard working man who loved his family and always helped his neighbors.  He will be sadly missed by us all, but we are thankful that he is at last at peace and with his loved ones in heaven. Survivng are five children; Larry (Barb) of Gladwin, Bonnie (Ken) Benac of Hillman, Peggy Todd of Flushing , Marily (Roger) Burk of Techumseh, OK,  Myra (Jeff) Hemmingway of Traverse City,  25 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and a sister, Marjorie Bromund of Alpena.  He was preceded in death by two brothers; Emil, Jr. and Alvin. Edwin Elowsky is at McWilliams Funeral Home – Alpena where friends may call on Tuesday from 2:00 – 8:00 pm and on Wednesday at Huron Shores Fellowship from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am.  Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Huron Shores Fellowship or Hospice of Michigan.  On-line condolences may be registered at www.lifestorynet.com
