The Alpena Wildcat football team played host to the Traverse City Central Trojans Friday night and were shut out, losing by a final score of 45-0.
Alpena hoped to take advantage of a big homecoming crowd and end its five game losing streak, but failed to do so, as the Trojans proved to be just too much for the Cats.
Tough breaks and silly mistakes hurt the Wildcats throughout the entire game.
One of the bright spots was Alpena running back Jordan Ferguson who carried the ball 13 times for a total of 113 yards.
With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 1-6 overall and are winless in the Big North Conference (0-4).
Alpena will travel to Petoskey next Friday night where they will try to end the losing streak and get their first confernce victory of the year.
