Girls Basketball

The Alpena High School girls basketball team (2-4) lost a Big North Conference game on the road in Gaylord. The Wildcats led 19 to 10 at halftime but fell to the Blue Devils 45 to 33.

The Posen girls basketball team improved their record to 10-0 after winning their 40th consecutive North Star League game against visiting Atlanta.The Vikings defeated the Huskies 75 to 8. Posen’s Korynn Hincka led all scorers with 31 points.

Hillman traveled to Fairview and beat the Eagles 46 to 37. 

Boys Basketball

The Alpena boys basketball team, now 4-1 on the season, played host to Gaylord and won the Big North Conference match-up 64 to 41. Luke Cordes led the Wildcats with 24 points and Tyler Pintar finished with 16. Alpena’s JV team also won, 60 to 42 but the freshman squad fell to the Blue Devils, 58 to 27.

Onaway traveled to Mancelona and lost to the Ironmen 66 to 51.
