Volleyball

The Alpena volleyball team won the Silver Division Championship at the Bay City Invitational. The Wildcats earned the top seed in the Silver Division after pool play and defeated Essexville-Garber to win the championship. Ami Milligan had a big day for the Wildcats, finishing with 109 assists, 19 aces and 14 kills. Brenna Bourdage added 48 kills and Emma Strong tallied 29.

Cross Country

The Alpena High School cross country teams competed at the Spartan Invitational on Saturday at Michigan State University and both the boys and girls squads finished in 16th place in their respective divisions.

The Rogers City boys cross country team won the Maurice Dewey Invitational on Saturday. The Hurons piled up 39 points and Rogers City’s Paul Wilbert was the top overall finisher with a time of 18:07.

Football

Posen defeated Ewen-Trout Creek in Engadine, 34 to 18, on Saturday and the victory gives the Vikings their first win of the season.
