So Northern Michiganders, ready to vote again? Passionate about your music? Add It or Can It is where we feature a song not heard on 999 The Wave. Then we open the phone lines to you the voting public. If more people like it (Add It), it will become a regular part of the radio station. If more people hate it (Can It), it goes bye-bye!

Today we featured a 1981 remake of Lee Dorsey’s “Working in the Coal Mine”. For Lee in 1966, it peaked at #8.  Devo’s 1981 version was a single on the New Traditionalists album. It stalled out just before making it into the top forty.

Does the song stay or go? It is entirely up to the listeners of 999 The Wave. Call in your vote by 8:00 am Friday at 989-354-3512 or 1-800-968-9354. Or you can send us an email…  thewave@truenorthradionetwork.com . The results will be heard at 8:15 am Friday.

Will Devo’s “Working in the Coal Mine” join Shaun Cassidy’s “Do You Believe In Magic”, “Nutbush City Limits” by Bob Segar, “Dear Mr. Fantasy” by Traffic, and “Rockaway Beach” by the Ramones as a permanent fixture on the Wave, or will it end up curbside? Add It or Can It…. Only you can decide!
