Well it’s official…. the votes have been tabulated and the results are in. In this week’s 999 The Wave Add It or Can It, we featured the 1975 remake of a Tina Turner song about her home town of Nutbush Tennessee. This version of “Nutbush City Limits”, comes from side two of the Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band “Beautiful Loser” album.

So what did the people of Northern Michigan say to it? Did “Nutbush City Limits”, join the 1967 Traffic song “Dear Mr. Fantasy” and the 1977 song “Rockaway Beach” by the Ramones as a permanent fixture on the Wave, or did it get shredded and tossed out?

By a narrow 63% you voted it

That was a bit of a sqeaker. We had no idea the voting would be so close. We predicted a unanimous victory, but that’s why you vote. So there you have it… Bob Seger’s “Nutbush City Limits” is now a part of 999 The Wave. Thanks to all who voted. We’ll have another song for you next Thursday. That’s right, yet another chance for you to call and vote to Add It or Can It!
