More arrests are expected in an ongoing drug investigation that started Saturday, when a Cheboygan woman was dropped off at the local hospital and later died of a heroin overdose.
Sheriff Dale Clarmont said 31 year-old Heather Wright was dropped off at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital Saturday evening, by an unidentified man. An autopsy later confirmed she had died of a heroin overdose. Four people have since been arrested and are facing countless charges related to Wright’s death.
Forty-two year-old Dale Moody and 44 year-old Donna Brown are each facing the most serious charges of delivery of a controlled substance causing death. Moody and Brown are both from Cheboygan and each faces up to life in prison if convicted.
Elijah Windom, 26, and Latora Spicer, 32, both of Flint, are also being charged in the case.
Clarmont said four minor children, ranging in age from 6 months to 10 years have been taken into protective custody and placed into temporary foster care. Two of the children belonged to Wright.
