Fireplace logs may be cause of house fire in Montmorency Co

Some logs may have rolled out of an open fireplace Saturday, causing a house fire in Montmorency County’s Vienna Township.

The fire broke out around 1:30 in the afternoon, at the home of Jerry and Terri Robertson on Island Hill Road.  Crews from Vienna Township and Lewiston battled the blaze for more than two hours and cleared the scene at about 4:30 p.m.

No one was injured.

Fire officials say some logs may have rolled out of the fireplace and started the carpet on fire.
