Blood drives in Atlanta & West Branch

Many New Year’s resolutions focus on breaking bad habits.  American Red Cross officials suggest developing a good habit, such as donating blood.

By resolving to donate blood or platelets in the coming year, donors can help save the lives of hospital patients who need blood for emergency or ongoing medical care.  Frequent donations through the Red Cross can also help keep the nation’s blood supply strong and ensure blood is available anywhere and anytime it is needed.

A blood drive is being held inside Atlanta High School Tuesday, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.  A second drive is being held Thursday, from noon to 5:45 p.m. at the Church of God in West Branch.

A new Michigan law allows 16 year-olds to donate blood, with written permission from a parent or guardian.
