The Michigan State Police Post Commander from Alpena has graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) National Academy.

F/Lt. Mike Caldwell is back in town after spending the past 10 weeks training at the Virginia academy.  He was selected among many applicants in the United States and abroad to attend the prestigious training academy.

Two hundred and seventy two law enforcement officers graduated in September, where they were addressed by FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III during a special ceremony.  Graduates included agency representatives throughout the United States, 26 international countries, five military organizations and four civilian federal enforcement organizations.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the FBI National Academy offers a rigorous program of advanced investigative, leadership, and fitness training.

F/Lt. Caldwell enlisted in the Michigan State Police in 1990 and has served at the Flint, Cheboygan, and Alpena posts during his career.
