The month of June proved to be soggy across most of northern lower Michigan.

Many areas received record or near record amounts of rainfall during the month.  That includes Alpena, where 5.38 inches was measured, more than twice the normal amount.  Traverse City and Sault Ste. Marie received even more rain during the month.

The average daily high temperature in Alpena during June was 72 degrees, or 2 degrees below normal.  The average daily low temperatures of 52 was nearly 3 degrees above the norm.

A high temperature of 85 degrees was recorded at the Alpena airport on both June 18th and 19th.  A low of 42 was recorded on the 8th.
