Alpena & Cheboygan student attend MI State Police Trooper school

Two of 49 high schools students attending a special Michigan State Police (MSP) trooper-recruit program this week are from northeast lower Michigan.

The annual Michigan American Legion Student Trooper Program is held at the MSP training academy in Lansing.  Between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m., students learn about traffic and criminal law, patrol tactics, crash investigations, forensic science and more.

Attending the program are Zachary Dorr of Alpena and Daniel Stacks of Cheboygan.

The program is designed for highly motivated young men and women who are seriously interested in a law enforcement career.  Each student is sponsored by a local American Legion office.
