North Eastern Michigan Rehabilitation and Opportunity Center, Inc. (NEMROC) has expanded to Montmorency County with the purchase of the former Precision Millworks facility in Hillman.

NEMROC officials say it will fire up the lumber drying kilns and initially put 6-8 people to work.  Future growth will depend on expanding current contract opportunities.

The acquisition of the mill allows NEMROC to effectively extend professional vocational training services for residents with disabilities in Montmorency County.  The purchase of the mill was finalized Friday.

NEMROC is a private non-profit agency which provides vocational training for people with disabilities. The agency once formed and supported by volunteers, donations and community grants now delivers vocational training while producing over $5.2 million dollars of products and services.  Those products and services are delivered locally, throughout Michigan, and nationwide.
