The City of Onaway is receiving $100,000 for road safety issues.

U.S. Congressman Bart Stupak announced the grant, which is coming through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development’s Community Facilities Program as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

“Communities across northern Michigan continue to benefit from rural development grants and I am pleased USDA continues to support efforts to improve facilities and infrastructure in the First Congressional District,” said Stupak.

In addition to the funding, the Onaway project is expected to create two jobs.
