UPDATE: Red Flag Warning issued

A Fire Weather Watch has been elevated to a Red Flag Warning for all of northern lower Michigan.

Warmer temperatures, lower humidity’s and gusty winds have led officials to raise the fire danger level across the region.

The Red Flag Warning is effect from noon to 9 p.m. Temperatures across most of the area are expected to reach into the 80’s today.  Relative humidity values are expected to be around 25-percent and winds could gust as high as 30 miles per hour.

A Red Flag Warning means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring or will shortly.  Weather conditions today will create explosive fire growth potential.
