A fire that killed a 22 year-old Eastern Michigan University student over the weekend, was one of four suspicious fires reported near the University of Michigan central campus.

The school in nearby Ypsilanti said Renden LeMasters of Dexter died following the Saturday fire that officials say began on the porch of the home and quickly spread.

AnnArbor.com reports the three other fires involved cars and trash cans and included one that destroyed three vehicles in a parking area underneath an apartment building.  None of the fires has been ruled arson, but officials say they are regarded as suspicious.

The fire that killed LeMasters also injured two other people.
