The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for all of northern Michigan.

The warning goes into effect at 2 o’clock this afternoon and continues to 11 p.m.

A Red Flag Warning means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly.  A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential.

Forecasters are calling for all of those conditions to spread across the region later today.
