The new average price is still nearly 72 cents per gallon higher than last year at this time.

Of the cities it surveys, AAA found the cheapest price for self-serve regular fuel in Saginaw and Bay City where drivers are paying $2.68 a gallon.  The highest average price was found in Marquette at $2.90.

Meanwhile, motorists in Alpena are paying $2.69 a gallon, down 14-cents from one week ago.
