A Cheboygan man will spend the next 16 months to 8 years in prison for illegally selling the prescription drug Ritalin.

In addition, Brent Anthony Stempky, 26, will not begin serving his sentence until he spends time in jail for violating the terms of his probation.  Stempky was on parole on other drug charges when police pulled his vehicle over and found marijuana and 50 Ritalin pills that he did not have a prescription for.

Stempky was also wanted on another outstanding warrant when he was pulled over by police.  He ultimately pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance (Ritalin) as a habitual offender.
