Flint native Andre Dirrell says it’s a mark in history to be part of what might be Michigan’s biggest boxing match in nearly three decades. Central Michigan is one of four teams to qualify their entire lineups for the NCAA wrestling championships, which start today in Omaha, Nebraska. Iowa is favored to win the program’s 23rd title in the three-day tournament.

Fourteenth-seeded Oakland is getting ready to face the third-seeded Pitt Panthers in Milwaukee tomorrow in an NCAA West Regional game. The good news for Oakland might be that the Panthers’ scoring average is down nearly 10 points a game compared with last year.
