An Alpena man was sentenced to prison Monday, for terrorizing his former girlfriend with a knife and a gun.

Bernard Stanley Roznowski II, 28, will spend 3-10 years behind bars on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a weapon with unlawful intent, felon in possession of a firearm and habitual 3rd offender.

On September 12, 2009, Roznowski and his then girlfriend got into an argument that started at the victim’s brother’s house.  The couple continued to argue in the car on their way to Roznowski’s home on Naylor Road when he pulled out a knife and held it to the woman’s throat.

Once inside the residence, the victim said Roznowski drew a shotgun, loaded it and unloaded it, pointing it at her multiple times throughout the hour to hour-and-a-half ordeal.

The woman said she feared for her life and was able to escape when Roznowski fell asleep.
