The Michigan State Police Alpena Post received 65 calls for service over the week.

Troopers arrested four people for drunk driving and two for possession of narcotics.

They also picked up five people on outstanding warrants and were on scene of eight auto accidents.  Thirty citations were written following 147 traffic stops.

Last Thursday troopers received a be on the look-out call for a black Ford pickup in the area of US 23 South and Squaw Bay in Alpena.  They were told the truck nearly hit a guard rail.  Troopers located the truck and pulled it over after the driver failed to maintain his lane.  The 39 year-old from Byron Center was subsequently arrested and jailed for operating while intoxicated with a high blood alcohol content and open intoxicants in a vehicle.
