Alpena Public Schools is holding an informational meeting for parents and students who want to learn more about the Alpena Early College program.

The program allows students to earn college credits at Alpena Community College while attending high school.

Students are required to stay in high school a fifth year although they can participate in graduation ceremonies with their class and will likely spend the majority of the fifth year at ACC.

The informational meeting is being held inside the high school auditorium next Thursday, (October 18) from 7-8 p.m.

Alpena Early College coordinator Lee Fitzpatrick will present information on the program and answer questions.  Students can only apply for entry into the program in the spring semester of their sophomore year and there are steps they can take before that to make themselves a good candidate.

For additional information contact Fitzpatrick at 358-5043, or by email at fitzpatrickl@alpenaschools.com.
