A 45 year-old man from Atlanta stands accused of embezzling materials from his former employer.

Thomas Gale Freeman has been charged with six counts of embezzlement following an investigation by the Michigan State Police Alpena Post.

The case was opened after Freeman’s employer, a forestry company in Presque Isle County, became aware of the thefts and filed a report.  The investigation revealed the thefts had been occurring over a period of several months, and totaled over $10,000.

True North Radio Network has learned that Freeman was basically skimming some logs off of his employer’s job sites and then selling those logs for personal gain.  The crimes were committed in Oscoda County.

Freeman has been charged with six counts of embezzlement $1,000-$20,000.  He is currently out on bond.
