A total of 87 calls for service were phoned into the Michigan State Police Alpena Post over the week.

Troopers were also on scene of 10 auto accidents and handed out 69 citations following 267 traffic stops.

Those stops also led to 14 arrests, including two for drunk driving and three for possession of narcotics.

The two drunk driving arrests occurred during the same investigation Saturday.  Troopers were sent to the area of Precour and Indian Reserve roads on a complaint of a suspicious vehicle squealing its tires.  When troopers arrived on scene they found a car in the ditch, off Precour Road, and a pickup truck parked on the side of the road.

Through the investigation it was determined that the 17 year-old driver of the car was drunk.  He was subsequently jailed on a charge of operating while intoxicated with a high blood alcohol content.

Troopers then turned to the 19 year-old driver of the pickup who is also friends with the 17 year-old.  The 19 year-old was also determined to be intoxicated and was also taken to jail.

Trooper also picked up 11 people over the week, on outstanding warrants.
