A downstate woman is facing charges following an incident at Lost Lake Woods Club near Lincoln that could have ended in a mass tragedy.

According to the Alcona County Sheriff’s Office, a female driver struck numerous vehicles and almost drove into a large crowd of people at the club’s annual fireworks display last Saturday, around 10:45 p.m.

The woman then sped off at a high rate of speed and was chased by Lost Lake Woods and North Star security.  When deputies from the sheriff’s office arrived on scene they found the woman had locked herself inside her vehicle.  There was also a small child inside.

Deputies eventually removed the suspect, 30 year-old Jaclyn Christine Brevick, from the vehicle.  Brevick, who lives in Royal Oak, was subsequently charged with operating while intoxicated – child endangerment, resisting a police officer and transporting an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.
