The Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Office has located a van allegedly used in a weekend abduction and sexual assault, and also spoken to someone “involved” in the incident.

A 33 year-old Cheboygan woman called 911 Sunday, claiming she was abducted by two men in a van, driven to a dead end road and sexually assaulted.

“Even though the investigation is ongoing and we have not arrested anyone at this time, I want the citizens to know there is no risk to the public or are they in any danger,” said Sheriff Dale Clarmont.

The sheriff would not release any others details about the incident but did say investigators are “working to wrap up this investigation.”

Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to contact police at 231-627-3155.

The victim said she was walking on Main Street near Mickey’s Mini Mart when she was pulled into a van, taken to the end of Duncan Bay Drive and sexually assaulted by two men.  She was eventually able to escape and ran to a residence for help.
