An Alpena woman with an alcohol addiction was recently sentenced to jail for stealing from at least six local businesses.

Jill Christine Foco, 48, has admitted to stealing from Meijer, Mandarin Garden, a local party store, Family Video, Cracker Barrel Party Store and J.C. Penney – her former employer.

According to her attorney, all of the thefts stem from an alcohol addiction.

Foco has been sentenced to nine months in jail and placed on 18 months probation.  She can get out of jail early if she is accepted into, and successfully completes, an inpatient alcohol abuse program.

Prior to sentencing, Foco apologized for her actions and said her behavior has destroyed her relationship with her daughter.  She also asked the court for help with her addiction.

Foco is also facing a Super Drunk driving charge from 2017.  Her blood alcohol level was .23 at the time, nearly three times the legal limit.  She has also been charged with two additional counts of retail fraud, and was recently charged with writing a bad check.

The Mandarin Garden incident occurred on October 31, 2017.  Foco went into the restaurant for an interview and during that time stole cash out of a register and then sped off in her vehicle.
