Alpena man arrested w/infant son following drunk driving crash

A 34 year-old man was arrested for drunk driving following a weekend accident in Alpena Township.

His infant son was in the vehicle at the time.

According to the Michigan State Police, the accident happened around 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon, on Hinckley Boulevard near Pine Road.

When troopers arrived on scene they found an SUV in the middle of the intersection and a pickup truck in the ditch.  A subsequent investigation revealed the driver of the SUV, a 34 year-old Alpena man, was at fault for the crash and had his 4-month-old son in the back seat.

The suspect was arrested and jailed on charges of operating with a high blood alcohol level, operating while intoxicated – occupant under the age of 16, assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, lying to peace officer, and operating with no license.

He was also wanted on two outstanding warrants out of Arenac County.

No one was injured in the crash.
