Mio AuSable Schools hosts blood drive

Submitted by Phil Heimerl on November 20, 2017 – 12:22 amNo Comment

The American Red Cross encourages people to give thanks and share their good health this holiday season by donating blood for patients in need.

A decline in donations occurs from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day when donors are busy with holiday activities and travel.

However, patients don’t get a holiday break from needing lifesaving transfusions.  In fact, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood.

Donors are encouraged to roll up a sleeve at Mio AuSable Schools Monday, from noon to 5:45 p.m.  It’s the only blood drive in the region this week.

Donors must be at least 16 years-old, weigh 110 pounds and be in good general health.
