The average price for a gallon of gas in Michigan was up just two cents last week.

AAA Michigan says the new statewide average price for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel is about $2.74.

That’s up about 67 cents a gallon from one year ago.

Of the ten metro areas surveyed by AAA, the lowest average price for gas was found in the Lansing/East Lansing area where it’s $2.70 a gallon.  The highest average price of $2.78 was found in Marquette.

Drivers in Alpena were paying an average of $2.71 for a gallon of regular unleaded gas Tuesday morning, up five cents from one week ago.

AAA says Michigan has the 7th highest average daily gas price in the nation; and is 1st in the nation for biggest change over the month, up 31 cents a gallon.
