Alpena County has started the search for an emergency services coordinator, who will also oversee the 911 department.

Former emergency services coordinator and 911 director Mark Gurisko stepped down after being convicted of drunk driving following an incident on April 23.

Gurisko’s official last day was Friday, June 23.

A tenured dispatcher has been leading the department over the past two-plus months.

Applications for the emergency services coordinator position are being accepted through Wednesday, September 27.   The salary range is $44,910 – $51,391.

Applications are available on the county’s website, or at the County Commissioners’ Office in the courthouse.
