Troopers from the Michigan State Police Alpena Post were busy responding to 106 calls for help last week.

There were three calls for suicide or insanity, two for sexual assault, and one each for a missing person and dangerous drugs.

Some of the other more serious complaints included drunk driving, assault or stalking, and civil or family dispute.

A total of 15 people were picked up on outstanding warrants.

Troopers also responded to a couple of larceny from a motor vehicle complaints over the week, and are reminding residents to keep their vehicles locked at all times.  In addition, troopers say owners should avoid leaving valuables in vehicles, park in well-lit areas, turn on exterior lights at night, and install a car alarm.

The MSP says a vehicle is stolen every 45 seconds in the United States and nearly half of those thefts occur because a door was unlocked or keys were left in the ignition.
