The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) will host a public hearing in September to discuss the formation of an Alpena-Montmorency Conservation District and take public comment from residents affected by the change.

The new district would reflect a consolidation of the Alpena and Montmorency Conservation Districts.

The public hearing is being held at Brush Creek Mill in Hillman on Wednesday, September 6, at 4 p.m.

Officials from the MDARD and both conservation districts will be on hand to explain the proposal and to take public comment.  Written comments and/or informational materials must be received by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, to allow time for review.  A mailing address for comments and materials can be found below.
