Entries are now being accepted for the annual Lafarge 4th of July Parade.

This year’s theme, “4th of July in the Movies,” should be the leading factor in designing entries, which will be judged on theme, creativity and appearance.

Appropriate music is also highly encouraged.

All parade entries must pay a $30 fee except for non-profit groups and approved individual or family entries.

Registration forms are available at Performance Locker at 1302 S. State Avenue, or online at www.performancelocker.com.  Forms must be turned in by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 23.  For questions call 884-1702.

Prizes will be awarded for first and second place in commercial and non-commercial categories.

The parade will be held on Wednesday, July 4, beginning at 11 a.m.  It starts at the Alpena County Fairgrounds and ends in the large parking lot by the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center.
