2 Alpena women admit to sexual assaulting teenagers
Two Alpena County women will be sentenced in June for sexually assaulting teenage victims.
Billie Jo Clayton, 30, pleaded guilty this week, to a single count of criminal sexual conduct third degree.
As part of a settlement agreement, two additional counts of CSC third degree were dismissed.
Clayton admitted that she had sexual relations with a boy between the age of 13 and 15, between August and November, 2016. The sex was not forced, however the age of consent in Michigan is 16.
In a separate case, 17 year-old Jazmyne Arlene Mayfield of Hubbard Lake pleaded guilty this week, to accosting a child for immoral purposes and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. In exchange for the guilty plea, a third count of criminal sexual conduct third degree was dismissed.
Mayfield admitted that she accosted, solicited or enticed a child under the age of 16 into having unforced sex on February 27. She also said they were drinking alcohol at the time.
Mayfield has no prior criminal record and may be able to avoid jail time altogether.
Both sexual assaults occurred in the City of Alpena. Both women are scheduled for sentencing on June 5.
